The SSBA are pleased to announce that they have become a Partner of Sell My Livestock (SML) . sellmylivestock.com 

Members of the SSBA selling stock through SML can have their adverts listed on the new specific SML Shropshire Sheep portal. There is no charge to sellers for this extra service.

Before a listing is added to the portal, it will be checked to make sure that the vendor is a member of the SSBA. Approved adverts will show “Shropshire Society” across the bottom of the photo. On the SML Homepage, there is a list of SML Partners (on the right on a PC, lower down the page on a mobile phone) – click on Shropshire Society (look out for the SSBA logo) to go through to the Shropshire Sheep Portal.

Once you have an account set up with SML, simply click the “New listing” button on the portal page to add your sheep for sale.

A new Shropshire Sheep for Sale page has also been added to the SSBA website. This will show all the sheep currently listed on the SML Shropshire Sheep portal. Viewers can click through to an individual advert for more information.

SSBA members are asked to make sure that they follow the society rules on all sheep offered for sale. All lambs must be Birth Notified within 90 days of birth. Female sheep over 4 months of age must then be registered by the breeder before being sold. Male sheep can be registered by the breeder or new owner (if a member of the SSBA).  Birth Notification is free of charge. Fees are payable for subsequent registration and registrations will not be actioned by the SSBA until all fees have been paid in full. All sheep must be ear tagged in accordance with DEFRA and SSBA rules.
