World Congress

The 125th Anniversary World Congress of the Shropshire Sheep Breeders’ Association will run from 10th to 15th June 2007

Highlights include:

• Visits to eight Shropshire flocks (Acton Scott, Alderton, Hayne Oak, Piddington, Sidedowns, Snowbird, Stoke and Ushers);
  
• An introduction to the system of grazing Shropshires in conifer tree plantations, to control weeds;
  
• Visit to CBS Technologies’ semen collection centre;
  
• Visits to people and places with an historical connection to the Shropshire breed;
  
• Sightseeing visits, including the World heritage site of Stonehenge in Wiltshire and Belvoir Castle in Lincolnshire;
  
• Grand finale at the Three Counties Show, Malvern, Worcestershire with an especially enlarged Shropshire showing section
