Stock for Sale
The Shropshire Sheep Breeders' Association has members throughout the UK. The breed society can arrange flock visits for potential buyers and will endeavour to match up buyers with sellers in their locality.
Members with stock for sale frequently advertise on this website. Additionally, buyers can contact the breed society's Sales Officer Claire Jakeman on 07766 238346 or if unavailable society Secretary Simon Mackay on 01744 811124 for help and advice.
National Shows and Sales
The SSBA hold two National Shows and Sales, the Western Sale is at Shrewsbury Market on Saturday 27th July, and the Eastern Show is on Friday 13th & Saturday 14th September. All stock at both these venues will be inspected by the breed society before being offered for sale to ensure breed standards are maintained.

Upset, Export and Home Market Prices
Each year, the SSBA sets minimum prices for the sale of sheep at its National Sales and for exports from the UK. The prices for 2013 are shown in the table below, along with guideline price ranges for pedigree sheep sold privately.

*Please note that Upset Prices are the minimum at which an animal can be sold. Vendors can set a higher reserve price, if they so wish.
# Animals from flocks that are recorded by Signet will have a full set of Estimated Breeding Values (EBV's) for growth, carcase and maternal traits. These should be available from June onwards for lambs, and can be compared with the current breed average figures (available from the breed society Secretary, Sales Officer and Registrar)
